Physical preparation

Today only those who have an athlete physique can be CHAMPIONS!

A modern tennis player can not be competitive without having a perfect physical condition. For this, a complete and rigorous physical training program is mandatory.

Age, sex, growth, transformation at the time of adolescence, and the player`s training level must be taken in consideration.

These are recommended to be explosive, sprint and jump on the spot. Also of great importance is the handling of the racket, which is also taught by physical exercises, namely swinging the racket from left to right.

Another recommended exercise is fast running on the tennis court from left to right, but also back and forward to work on body flexibility and the player`s reaction speed.
In the case of a sprint, it is recommended that we do this on the tennis court, with the same pair of sports shoes that the player carries during the game.

In tennis it takes 30 minutes of physical training, at least twice a week. Recommended to be done in other days than those in which we played tennis.

Depending on these parameters, we can say that:
- up to 11 years of training must be based on speed, coordination and suppleness (alactic anaerobic).
- from 11 to 14 years you can add the long courses (footing) and you can begin the strength training without weights (alactic aerobics)
- from the age of 15 to 16 years, the resistance exercises (lactic anaerobes)

During the physical training period (September-December), it is recommended:
- 9-10 years = 2 x 30 min / week
- 11-12 years = 2 X 1 hour / week
- 13-14 years = 3 X 1 hour / week
